Jonny Nash (NL)

Scottish-born multi-instrumentalist and producer Jonny Nash is a key figure in contemporary ambient music. After developing his musical foundation DJing and record digging in Tokyo’s experimental scene during the 2000s, Nash debuted his synth-driven productions in 2008, before co-founding the ambient trio Gaussian Curve alongside Gigi Masin and Young Marco. Now based in Amsterdam, he operates his boutique imprint, Melody As Truth, crafting a contemplative, guitar-and-synth-led signature sound through extensive solo work and collaborations with artists like Suzanne Kraft. Prolific and boundary-pushing, his recent catalog bridges the gap between modern electronics and traditional acoustic folk, drawing inspiration from global traditions ranging from Indonesian Tarawangsa to Eastern European folk styles.

In addition to his work as a producer, Nash is a regular live performer and has toured his solo live show all over the world. He was also worked on a variety of audio-visual projects including a 2019 installation with Japanese artist Yoshirotten and an participated in the Venice Biennale with Xavier Veihlan. His music has been used in a variety of series and films.
