Gianny Emanuel (NL)

Gianny Emanuel is the founder of Gowtu, born from a dream to bring together his Maroonroots, the diversity of Surinamese music and his love for events. Over the past eight years, Gowtu has grown from intimate club nights into a broad cultural platform, spanning comedy, concerts at venues including Paradiso and Melkweg, festival programming in the Netherlandsand major events in Suriname. Beyond music, Gianny continues to build that cultural connection, including introducing Surinamese cocktails to the Netherlands. Through Gowtu, he continues to bridge Suriname, his motherland, and the Netherlands, his home, creating new space for Surinamese culture, artists and audiences.
