Ferdi Blankena (NL)

Ferdi Blankena is born and raised in Deventer, the east of The Netherlands. After Listening to hiphop and reggae in his youth he came in touch with techno at an Awakenings party in the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. A few parties later he was so addicted to technomusic that he bought himself a couple of SL1200′s, bought records and started spinning them. Nowadays his dj style is better to describe as a mixture of underground house and techno. He performed in cities like Amsterdam (paradiso, studio 80), Nijmegen (doornroosje, merleyn), Arnhem (8bahn) and Utrecht (winkel van sinkel). And of course at a lot of DDS parties in his home town. A few years ago he wanted to dive deeper into his music, so he started producing his own tracks. This resulted in his first release in 2010 at Wolfskuil Records. The release was national and international very well received. With that success Ferdi is nowadays spending a lot of time in his studio and a next release is on it’s way. Besides producing and dj’ing Ferdi is also co-founder and resident dj of DeventerDubSessions. An organisation which throws house/techno parties in and around Deventer.
