DJ Momo (TN)
Immersed in an artistic universe since his childhood, Momo Ben Salem discovered his passion for music at the age of 15, in 1998, when he hosted his first party in the suburbs of Tunis. Very quickly, he turned to R'n'B, Hip-Hop and Soul.
At the age of 16, he equipped himself with his first turntables and began to mix at private parties, before performing in pubs and then in the most famous clubs in Tunisia. At the same time, he continued his studies, managing to reconcile his academic career with his growing passion for music.
His success owes nothing to chance. Since his teenage years, he has been exploring, experimenting and perfecting his art. On stage, he develops an instinctive relationship with the audience, capturing their energy to transform each performance into a unique experience. For him, music is not a profession, but a real way of life.
Over the years, Momo Ben Salem has been able to assert a singular sound identity, mixing deep house, progressive house and techno, and establishing himself as one of the most influential DJs on the Tunisian scene. His influences range from Jean-Michel Jarre to Frankie Knuckles, Carl Cox, Paul Kalkbrenner, Eric Morillo, Derrick May, Hernan Cattaneo, Booka Shade and Jeff Mills.
Over the course of his career, he has shared the decks with internationally renowned artists such as Anthony Pappa, Behrouz, Yaya, Uner, Davide Squillace, Paul Ritch, Cesar Merveille, Hernan Cattaneo, Robert Dietz, Marc Romboy, Mark Knight, Stephan Bodzin, SIS, Wally Lopez, Aly & Fila, Emma Hewitt, Sebastian Ingrosso, Nick Warren, David Vendetta, and many others. These meetings and collaborations have consolidated his reputation far beyond the Tunisian borders.
Momo Ben Salem has performed at several major festivals and events, including Gravity, Sunshine, Djerba Music Land and Burning After. He is also co-founder of the "Vinyl Only" concept, an event dedicated to vinyl culture and authentic electronic music, celebrating the passion for analog mixing and the pure essence of sound.
Always active on the music scene, he is regularly invited on national and international radios such as RTCI, Mosaïque FM, Innervision Radio, Tulum Radio and Radio FG nomade where he shares his artistic vision and exclusive sets.
