Chief & Kesh are brothers. Together they had a very successful run as DJ Team “AmsterdamSoundSystem”, bringing a fusion of carribean music styles to the clubs. This brought them a gold record, a soundtrack of a platinum scoring movie, and stages at all major festivals like Lowlands, Mysteryland and Milkshake. Chief has a houseboat with recording studio in the middle of the Amsterdam. He is CEO of threeheaded production company “Soulsearchin” (with Lino Brown and Kurdish Mayfield). He also did production and scratches on the infamous one-of-a-kind Wu Tang album, "Once Upon a time in Shaolin", that was bought by Martin Shkreli and is currently seized by the FBI. Technically the worst selling album of all time, with only 1 copy sold, for over a million dollars. They also have a Number 1 Billboard plaque for their contribution on Yellow Claw’s debut album "blood for mercy". This year Soulsearchin won big at the BUMA NL (dutch ASCAP) awards with 12 plaques for the team. Chief also taught music production for seven years at the prestigious Herman Brood Academy, where he passed on knowledge to the next generation of superstars. The emphasis of Soulsearchin lies in talent development, and this launched several successful careers. He worked closely with Soulsearchin on many projects like a movie soundtrack that won first prize at the Chicago filmfestival. He started Prestige Worldwide in 2018, a company specialised in live show design, artist development and event production. Taking his love for storytelling and his unique perspective on shows as a DJ, he makes engaging live experiences for some of the top artists in the Netherlands (Boef, Mula B, Rimon, Naaz). His work has won several awards like the number one live show at Eurosonic Noorderslag in 2018. This work has also not gone unnoticed by the Dutch government who frequently relies on his expertise in commissions for subsidiaries and funds associated with the arts.
