Chatelin (NL)

Somewhere between repetition and losing the plot is where Chatelin feels most at home. A 4x4 kick drum usually provides the backbone, but rarely the boundary.

Breaks interrupt the machinery, strange records slip through the cracks, and sometimes the dancefloor disappears altogether in favour of ambient excursions. The thread is less about genre than feeling: ecstatic, devilish, sensual and raw.

A restless collector guided by curiosity and intuition, Chatelin is interested in the point where a set starts to develop a life of its own. One record leads somewhere unexpected, the room shifts, and thinking gives way to movement.

Currently studying at AEMA in Amsterdam, he is a resident and part of the team behind Birdcage Radio in Utrecht, and has played at Kabul à GoGo, PIP and Tillatec.
