Artur Mendes (PT)

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Artur Mendes is Co-Managing Director and partner of Boom Festival and the Being Gathering, both recognised for fostering transformative experiences. He also sits on the board of the Portuguese Association of Promoters of Shows, Festivals and Events (APEFE), and holds a degree in Social and Organisational Psychology and an Executive Master's from ISCTE – University of Lisbon, alongside studies in Permaculture, Ecovillage Design, Organic Agriculture, Creative Leadership (THNK), Design Thinking and Copywriting, to name just a few. His path runs from the social sector to the electronic music scene, where he has been active since the early 1990s, contributing to curation and production for music events, shows and festivals, and to communication across various media platforms, including television, websites and books. He has also spoken at international events around the world. His intention with Boom Festival is to awaken the subversive self, encouraging individuals to inspire change within their own communities.
