Applescal (NL)

After exploring Berlin for a number of years, 2015 saw the release of Applescal’s album ‘For’, as well as the return to his native Amsterdam. Since then, his energy has been focused on refining his craft as a DJ whilst curating his record label Atomnation, which has released music from the likes of Gidge, Tunnelvisions, David Douglas and Polynation amongst others. His productions, sets and record label are devoted to investigating the more cerebral corners of Dutch techno. As Applescal he makes complex, melodic tracks which are lauded far beyond the country’s borders. Since releasing his debut album as one half of Deltawerk, his sound has become darker, but his music always retains a grounded sense of warmth. With a busy schedule full of festival gigs and releases due on Anjunadeep, DGTL and of course Atomnation, 2018 is looking like a splendid year for Apples...
