At only 19 years old, Dutch DJ superstar Martin Garrix has become one of electronic dance music’s youngest superstars, amassing a chart-topping musical legacy along the way. Leaping 36 places to #4 on the DJ Mag Top 100 charts in 2014, garnering both the attention of Billboard’s prestigious “21 Under 21” as well as Forbes’ “30 Under 30" list and dropping his first BBC Essential Mix, Martin Garrix’s story is only just beginning. His global smash hit single “Animals” charted at #1 in the UK and reached international platinum status with more than 100 million streams on Spotify and over 600 million views on YouTube to date. Playing at prestigious festivals like Coachella, the main stage at Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Amsterdam Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival and with new residencies at premiere nightclubs like Omnia, Las Vegas and Ushuaia Ibiza, Garrix’s sound is genuinely ubiquitous. After starting 2015 with more high-profile shows and new music, such as his collaboration “Don’t Look Down” with Usher, “The Only Way is Up” with his newfound mentor and friend Tiesto, 2015 was a good year for Martin Garrix.
Nearly six months into 2016, the year is ramping up to be one of the most ambituous ones to date. Martin’s releases have been strong as ever, with a hotly anticipated free download ‘Bouncy Bob’ and his single ‘Now That I’ve Found You’. The last of which simultaneously acts as the first major release on his newly founded imprint STPMD RCRDS, which launched in March. Most importantly of all, after being the youngest artist to ever grace the main stage of Ultra, Martin made history again by closing out the main stage on the first day of Ultra Miami. Premiering an astonishing array of unreleased music much like his performance of last year, Martin kicked off with his new recently released collaboration with Third Party ‘Lions In The Wild’. With a debut album fresh in the works and a summer schedule filled with every major festival worth attending, the young adult wiz kid shows that he’s at the forefront of today’s electronic music scene.
