KNEPA presents The Family Brunch
Arrive as a guest, leave as a memory.

Remember the music that was always on at home? The songs your uncle played every time he came over, the radio on Sunday cleaning day, the tracks you got from your cousins and your friends before you found your own.
Every generation had its own sound, and they all end up connected anyway.

On Sunday 25 October we're taking over Cut Throat Amsterdam for The Family Brunch. Good food, good music, and the feeling of sitting around with family.

Who we are
KNEPA was started by Sjenks and FIRI, two DJs from different backgrounds who met through music. After a lot of years playing records and sharing sets, we noticed that the songs we grew up with carry a lot more than a beat. They carry people, places and bits of home. This is what we built from that.

What to expect
Music: Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Dancehall, House, Caribbean sounds and music from across the African diaspora, moving through the generations and the links between them.
Food: A relaxed brunch with a Caribbean twist, with the food and the music sharing a table.
Games: Music Bingo, Finish the Lyrics, childhood games and memory questions to get everyone talking.

Memories: Family photos, old objects, analog photography and little things from your childhood you probably haven't thought about in years.

People: We planned the day so it's easy to start a conversation. You'll talk, laugh, dance, and probably leave with a new name in your phone.
You might recognize a song your parents used to play. The person next to you might know the record it sampled, and someone else might show you the dance that goes with it. What we share brings us together, and what's different keeps it interesting.
Bring your friends, someone who feels like family, or come alone and meet someone new. For us, family includes the people you're related to and also the people you pick up along the way.

About KNEPA
KNEPA is a culture. We make spaces where people can connect with themselves, with each other and with where they come from, through music, food, art and shared memories. Togetherness, cultural memory and musical storytelling are what we care about.
The Family Brunch is our first one.

Festival FAQ

ADE Festival tickets are sold individually by the festival event organizers, but you’ll also be able to purchase them through the ticket links on the event pages on our website here.

Not to worry! Make sure to contact the event (or their ticketing provider) you are visiting as soon as possible with as many details about your order; name, email address, amount of tickets, etc. Once they've recovered your order, the tickets can be resent to your email.

Need help to find your event's contact details? Message us at [email protected] and we'll be happy to help.

Most festival events have an age limit of 18+ (and sometimes even 21+ or 23+). These are Dutch governmental rules which state that below the age of 18 you are not allowed to enter a club.

Please double-check the promoter's or venue's website to be sure you can access the event!

Yes, the ADE Pro Pass grants you access to all ADE official festival events.

Be aware though that there are over 1,200 events during ADE that you can enter with the Pro Pass wristband and that ADE cannot guarantee access. There is a limited capacity that each venue can take into account for Pro Pass holders. This means for some of the more crowded events you have to arrive early. Once capacity is reached, we will go over in a full-for-now policy. The festival event organizer will decide when and if more people are allowed to go in.

The ADE Pro Pass is the perfect fit if you are planning on enjoying the combination of day and night events. If you want guaranteed access to a particular festival event, we advise you to get a single festival ticket instead.

We dance together, so please be mindful of yourself and each other. We expect an open attitude from our visitors towards other guests, regardless of their origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion and age. If you see or experience any unwanted attention, harassment or behavior of any kind that makes you uncomfortable, please speak out and notify staff.

Please keep in mind: we love being your annual host, therefore, we would like to ask you to enjoy yourself responsibly.

ADE is proud partner of the Celebrate Safe campaign.
