Zone2Source presents an exhibition exploring electricity as a living network through works by Sunjoo Lee, Adriana Knouf, Claire Williams and Ryan Jordan, in which technology, ecology and ritual become intertwined.
Circuits and Ceremonies takes Sunjoo Lee’s long-term artistic research project Electric Garden as a starting point, a project initially developed in collaboration with FIBER. Zone2Source invited the artist to continue to explore the implications of her project further through engagement with the work of fellow artists who equally consider electricity not as an invisible, unlimited source of energy but as a living and relational process.
Presented in the centre of the glass pavilion and growing outwards, works by Adriana Knouf, Claire Williams and Ryan Jordan will engage in direct dialogue with Sunjoo Lee’s work through installations, research and experiments.
Using microbial fuel cells, which generate power through the metabolic processes of soil bacteria, Electric Garden becomes an ecosystem where microbes, plants, insects, and minerals coexist while emitting small currents of electricity. Devices powered by the garden are designed to adapt to the slow, variable and unpredictable currents of the microbes, questioning the speed and extractive logic of industrial energy systems and encouraging reflection on degrowth, reciprocity, and ecological coexistence. What happens when electricity is not generated and consumed, but cultivated, nurtured and shared?
Zone2Source is located in the Amstelpark. The closest access is the so-called Red Bridge.

Zone2Source is uniquely located in the middle of the Amstelpark in Amsterdam-Zuid, a fantastic place to meet a very diverse audience. The park can be accessed through six different gates. The main entrance is on the Europaboulevard. The access closest to Zone2Source is the so-called Red Bridge, 300 meters south from the main entrance.

Festival FAQ
ADE Festival tickets are sold individually by the festival event organizers, but you’ll also be able to purchase them through the ticket links on the event pages on our website here.
Not to worry! Make sure to contact the event (or their ticketing provider) you are visiting as soon as possible with as many details about your order; name, email address, amount of tickets, etc. Once they've recovered your order, the tickets can be resent to your email.

Most festival events have an age limit of 18+ (and sometimes even 21+ or 23+). These are Dutch governmental rules which state that below the age of 18 you are not allowed to enter a club.
Please double-check the promoter's or venue's website to be sure you can access the event!
Yes, the ADE Pro Pass grants you access to all ADE official festival events.
Be aware though that there are over 1,200 events during ADE that you can enter with the Pro Pass wristband and that ADE cannot guarantee access. There is a limited capacity that each venue can take into account for Pro Pass holders. This means for some of the more crowded events you have to arrive early. Once capacity is reached, we will go over in a full-for-now policy. The festival event organizer will decide when and if more people are allowed to go in.
The ADE Pro Pass is the perfect fit if you are planning on enjoying the combination of day and night events. If you want guaranteed access to a particular festival event, we advise you to get a single festival ticket instead.
We dance together, so please be mindful of yourself and each other. We expect an open attitude from our visitors towards other guests, regardless of their origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion and age. If you see or experience any unwanted attention, harassment or behavior of any kind that makes you uncomfortable, please speak out and notify staff.
