Boris Acket presents EINDER for 30 YEARS ADE, with performances by Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Elias Mazian and Joep Beving
Boris Acket’s installations distort reality, creating unpredictable moments and surrendering to inertia and momentum. Visitors become part of the work itself, fusing to become part of a new reality, much like the liminal club experience, imprinting and interpreting the fabric that can shift like swirling sand or a shifting storm, depending on your perspective and experience.
The Live Concert Series opens on ADE Wednesday with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra leaving their residendence in Amsterdam-Zuid, and making their way to Amsterdam-West to perform Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony – a rare occasion exclusively curated for 30 YEARS ADE. Elias Mazian takes the stage with his live band on ADE Thursday, and Joep Beving performs his new album, the aptly named Liminal, on 29 October with EINDER as dynamic backdrop, as a perfect closing of the year ADE marks its 30th edition.
EINDER comes to life
The exhibition opens on ADE Friday with a new composition created especially for EINDER by artist and Venice Biennale Music artistic director Caterina Barbieri. At selected moments throughout the exhibition, EINDER will also be brought to life through a performance by choreographer Kiani del Valle, whose work includes Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show.
EINDER is an old Dutch word that means the edge where sky and earth appear to meet, phonetically infinite edge, or simply horizon. See how that is reflected and celebrated for ADE’s 30th year.
Pre-registration for the concerts is open from 11 to 24 August. The pre-sale begins on 25 August, with any remaining tickets becoming available during the general sale from 27 August. Tickets for the concerts (seated only) are available from €27, excluding service fees.

'With EINDER, we wanted to create a work that people can experience with more than just their eyes. By bringing movement, light and sound together, the installation creates an environment in which visitors become part of the work itself. It builds on my fascination with temporary spaces where music, visuals and people merge to create a new reality. Much like a club, it creates a moment that cannot be fully predicted, a moment where everything comes together.'
