Announcing TWAN as the winner of Demolition XXVI

Monday, 15 January 2024
After a fierce contest at Felix Meritis on ADE Saturday led by Dave Clarke, we unveil the champion of ADE Lab 2023's Demolition contest: Antonio Marra, known by his artistic alias TWAN, is the official winner of the 26th edition of the infamous Demolition demo competition.

TWAN's track "Carry On" stood out in a sea of creativity, capturing the hearts and ears of our esteemed jury and audience alike. Emerging from his vibrant Brixton-based studio, "Carry On" masterfully blends emotional melodies with an intense bassline and cutting-edge beats, and resonated deeply with listeners. As Antonio puts it, "life presents us with challenges and adversity, yet we discover the strength within to persevere. This song explores that resilience."

Hailing from Italy and currently based in London, Antonio Marra, aka TWAN, is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer, and DJ. He discovered his passion for music at the age of four with the piano and has been on a musical pursuit ever since. His sound draws inspiration from electronic dance music legends and underground culture, including icons like Richie Hawtin, Frankie Knuckles, Daft Punk, and Bonobo.

TWAN's aspirations soar high as he plans to release his first EP in 2024, and with his goal of connecting with a global audience and collaborating with like-minded artists he shows his commitment to pushing his boundaries.

The Demolition contest, a highlight of ADE's talent development programming for many years, saw numerous talented artists presenting their work to a panel of acclaimed creatives. TWAN's profound respect and admiration for panel members, including Joseph Capriati and Kölsch, makes this victory even more significant.
