ADE Arts & Culture explores mental health, future tech and cultural crossovers

Health and Wellbeing
Mark to the music
Mark to the Music - a mindful art experience is a collaboration between Museum van de Geest and Amsterdam Dance Event, focusing on the de-stressing and spiritual power of electronic music and sound through a guided visual meditation. Guided by professional mindfulnesstrainer Jolien Posthumus, and rare electronic, ambient and field recording vinyl selected and played by the iconic DJ Marcelle, you will be taken on a personal journey within during a custom made 60 minute experience.
House of Hope – The streets shows the way
House of Hope is an immersive club concept in a church. People who have experienced homelessness first-hand will share their real-life stories, accompanied by DJ and producer Mees Dierdorp setting the mood with his compelling and distinctive sound. What does feeling at home mean to you? House of Hope is a spot for you to connect, to feel, to learn and above all: to dance.
Other highlight initiatives include Relections presents: A live music and meditation experience, The Golden Hour #12 w/ Portrait XO and Where There is Light, a unique safe haven for ravers at Westerkerk.
Innovative Audiovisual Experiences
WAIVE: Blue pill/red pill
Imagine yourself in the future of music with a unique AI-powered live set that stimulates all your senses: On ADE Wednesday, Borisov hosts a futuristic performance co-created by humans and Artificial Intelligence. DJs spin back-to-back and co-create a never-before-seen live show with an AI system called WAIVE, a system used to create unique samples, beats and visuals from the Dutch archives.
Within Without II
Remember the infamous Orbiter from last year's Awakenings at ADE? This is your chance to experience the installation up close in a multidisciplinary performance piece at Royal Theatre Carré — there is even a special late-night, ADE-ready showing of the event as the perfect kickoff to your ADE Wednesday night...
Other highlights include Nxt Museum x Transmoderna present: AiR, Bits & Pieces and 24classics presents: 3VIOLAS x Vincent Rang, a one-off collaboration that features the synthesised sounds of a live tree.

Cultural Crossovers
Creatures of the Night
Fashion is about conveying desire. Vanderwilt desires to design leathers that will gently intertwine with you. To create a second skin. An adaptive layer enabling you to transcend convention. Propelling you to tread wherever you fancy. Vanderwilt will be exhibiting leather outfits as seen on stage with the likes of Dave Clarke, David Guetta, Sandra St.Victor and many more, including their latest project for Maxime Duvall who will perform ‘Creatures of the night’ in the Vanderwilt store.

Rooted in Culture
The culture is essential in the House and Club landscape. It’s rooted in black culture, queerness, underground spaces, and liberated bodies. Rooted in Culture liberates through movement, education, and culture. Get inspiration from 2 Housedancers who have their roots in the dutch club culture Dro & Zev while Lynnee Denise will guide you through the history of House and Disco music with sound and video samples.
Other highlights include dance performances including Amsterdam Housedance Comunity X ADE Special and If You Could See Me Now, exhibitions including Sweet Harmony at Het HEM and GOD IS A DJ EXPO at Beurs van Berlage, as well as the comedy program at Boom Chicago with events such as the Musical Improv Spectacular ft. Sunnery James.
