Victoria Chapman (GB)

Victoria Chapman is Sustainability Coordinator at Festival Republic, overseeing environmental sustainability at 10 major UK festivals. She has worked her current role for three seasons and has made strong connections with Julie’s Bicycle, Greenpeace UK, Friends of the Earth Ireland, amongst others. She has introduced reusable cups to Download Festival and the Eden Sessions and worked on a deposit return system on cups and plastic bottles. She was one of the first cohort on Julie’s Bicycle’s Creative Climate Leaders Programme in 2016 adding to her experience in the private, charity and public sectors. Taking the decision to specialise in sustainability in 2015 Victoria undertook a PGCert in Sustainability and Adaption at the Centre for Alternative Technology, 12 years after her undergraduate degree in law at the University of Leeds. Sustainability and regeneration have been strong threads throughout her career. Victoria has also worked at the Eden Project in Cornwall as their Sustainability Manager and managed the creative reuse of vacant buildings for East Street Arts. She also worked on the procurement of major social infrastructure projects at Leeds City Council for seven years where she trained in project management and sustainable procurement. Victoria is currently based in London.
