Teddy Vrijmoet (NL)

As director Vrijmoet is, since 2009 and among other things, responsible for the organisation of Vierdaagsefeesten. Because of her practical knowledge of the hotel and catering industry and her ample experience as projectmanager she turned out to be the ideal candidate for the job. In recent years Vrijmoet has devoted herself to the professionalization of the organisation of Vierdaagsefeesten – which is a foundation - and the modernization of the event itself. Main items in this perspective are the mutual coordination and collaboration with stakeholders such as the visitors, the municipality, inhabitants and residents organizations, local and regional entrepreneurs, sponsors, cultural and public institutions, charitable organisations and educational institutes. Other important issues are the sharing of knowledge with colleagues, innovation in the area of crowd management and safety, and the realization of more diverse programming for different target groups. Vierdaagsefeesten has a unique collaboration with the municipality of Nijmegen. During the event the foundation gets the right to arrange the public space in the entire city centre and, more importantly, she decides who will be advocated to receive a licence. Vierdaagsefeesten wants to make her platform available to the partners she works with. In doing so social involvement and sustainability are leading.
