SETO (NL)

Artist

Long before the name SETO ever appeared on a lineup, its owner had already left fingerprints on 100 million streams worldwide, as a producer and songwriter working behind names like David Guetta, Stargate, Carl Falk, Nicky Romero, Armin van Buuren, J Balvin and Iggy Azalea. It's the kind of resume most DJs spend a lifetime chasing. He built his in the studio, one session at a time, long before he built a name for himself as an artist.

The story starts far from any club. Raised between the stillness of the Dutch countryside and the raw pulse of The Hague, he learned piano at eight, grew up on church choir harmonies, and by seventeen had traded the pews for a pair of headphones and a growing hip-hop and dance music obsession. His sound still carries that contrast, and it carries his roots. Surinamese rhythm on one side, Indonesian heritage on the other, both written into a name that was never invented. It's the middle name he was born with.

By 2014, that talent had earned him a seat in the room with Stargate in New York. By 2017, he was in the studio with David Guetta, shaping records for artists including G-Eazy, J Balvin, Lil Uzi Vert, Saweetie and Madison Beer. Along the way, a friendship with Swedish producer Carl Falk turned into production and writing credits on records like Avicii's "Fades Away" and Iggy Azalea's "Lola."

SETO is what happens when that same instinct steps out from behind the desk. Not a trend-chaser. Not built for applause. A tech house project built on taste, instinct and heritage, for people who feel rhythm in their body and culture in their spirit.
