MMZ (KE)

MMZ is a Nairobi-based DJ, producer, promoter, and event curator whose musical identity is rooted in emotion, rhythm, and connection. Drawing inspiration from House, Afro House, Melodic House, Progressive House, Disco, and Tech House, he crafts immersive sets that balance deep musicality with dancefloor energy.

With over 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry and a professional DJ career dating back to 2011, MMZ has built a reputation for reading crowds and creating memorable musical journeys. Whether performing at intimate house parties, boutique venues, festivals, or major club events, his approach remains the same: authentic music, timeless grooves, and unforgettable moments.

Over the years, he has shared stages with internationally acclaimed artists, including Zakes Bantwini, Sun-El Musician, Prince Kaybee, DJ Maphorisa, Kid Fonque, Thandi Draai, and Atmos Blaq.

Committed to continuous artistic growth, MMZ successfully completed the DJ Performance Certification at the Pete Tong DJ Academy and is currently advancing his skills through the academy's music production programme. In 2026, he officially began his journey as a recording artist, with his debut original release scheduled for July 2026, marking the next chapter in his evolution from DJ and curator to producer.

In 2025, MMZ launched Closing Rituals, a boutique event concept centred on musical storytelling, community, and quality electronic music experiences. The series quickly gained recognition, including features on Resident Advisor, and is hosted exclusively at Jekyll & Hyde, a venue he co-owns and curates.

Today, MMZ continues to push his sound forward through performances, productions, and event curation, while championing the growth of electronic music culture across East Africa.
