Mike leads product strategy, roadmap, and execution for all components of Beatport’s
integrated music platform, including the Beatport Pro store, streaming service and
mobile apps, Beatport Live video site, and more. He has a proven track record of creating innovative business and consumer software products across a variety of
platforms, including local, social, search, video and mobile.
He joined Beatport from cloudbased software provider Booker, where he was SVP of
products. Previously he held the position of Chief Product Officer at WeWork, head of
product at Viggle, and played a key role in the executive team that built KickApps and
sold the company to KIT Digital.
Mike Sommers has been creating consumer internet products since 1995, when he
developed a series of very successful communitybased music products on AOL as a
contract employee of ABC Online (before "social" was cool). He is a Graduate of Columbia University, and resides in New York City.
