Spearheading a global movement to support women in Electronic music that evolved from the creation of a book she co-authored. Laila, has become a respected figure in the push on gender representation in the industry, while holding an Honouree title in the Alt Power Music 100 List.

The initiative she founded; Lady of the House celebrates, champions and honours women in dance music through a multi activity platform. Delivering live talks and debates, cultural exhibitions, music events, and through practical working partnerships; the brand has had a huge impact on the sector in the past 18 months. Artists involved in the project include; Becky Hill, Charlotte De Witte, Nina Kraviz, Joceyln Brown, Roisin Murphy, Nicole Modaber, Carl Cox and more.

Through her 20 year career Laila has excelled in adversity and is a seasoned music events manager, promoter, marketing consultant delivering successful profitable live music events and tours since 2002. An expert in the management and promotion of club events from concept to completion with a track record of 500k tickets sold to events, managing budgets totalling over 2m she has worked with partners in promoting events for artists including David Morales, Grace Jones & Lauryn Hill, working with brands & venues such as Defected, Redbull, Fabric, Outlook. Laila secured over 700k government support funding for electronic music businesses whilst campaigning for more recognition of Electronic Music as a cultural necessity. An active social justice advocate, she is passionate about gender, racial and socio-economic equity standing for the protection of all things diverse and inclusive that make up our dance music community.
