KANAE (JP)

DJ KANAE is a Japanese DJ from Tokyo, born in 1993. From an early age, she was immersed in music and performance through traditional Japanese dance and eurhythmics education, developing a strong sense of rhythm and artistic expression.


Throughout her school years, she gained extensive musical experience, performing trombone and percussion in marching bands, as well as bassoon and percussion in orchestral ensembles. She later expanded into contemporary music, playing bass and guitar in bands and performing at live music venues across Tokyo. Exposure to a wide variety of musical genres and performance styles ultimately led her to discover a passion for dance music, particularly the fusion of electronic music and pop culture that emerged throughout the 1980s and 1990s.


She began her DJ career in 2025 and has since performed at some of Tokyo’s premier nightlife venues, including ZERO TOKYO and RAISE Ginza.


Specializing in Tech House, her DJ sets are centered around groove-driven energy while incorporating elements of House and Techno. Drawing on her diverse musical background, she delivers performances that combine rhythmic precision, musical depth, and an instinctive ability to connect with the dance floor.


With influences ranging from traditional Japanese performing arts and live instrumentation to electronic music culture, DJ KANAE continues to refine her unique sound, seamlessly blending diverse musical elements into a distinctive artistic identity.
