Juicy Romance is a DJ, producer and lyricist delivering a steamy indulgence in surrealistic
club hedonism.
Over the last few years, Juicy Romance has emerged from Australia's electronic scene as
one of the most exciting DJs introduced to the UK and EU clubbing circuit. Appearing
alongside peers Ellen Alien, jamesjamesjames, DJ Mell G, Skin On Skin, I.JORDAN & DJ
Heartstring, Juicy Romance is fuelled by a mission to inject a playful blend of dark and
bouncy club bangers. Curating sets that span across Techno, Electro, Trance, Breaks and
other dynamic subgenres over 140 bpm, Juicy Romance has also contributed DJ mixes to
fabric’s podcast series, Four Four Magazine, Origin Sounds, Triple Jand more.
Originally from Melbourne, Juicy moved to London to pursue her career as a triple-threat
electronic act. Highlights of her 2022 tour include Germany’s Melt Festival, aheadline at
Hamburg’s iconic PAL, Skream’s Amnesia Ibiza takeover, appearances at Elysia Basel, RSO
Berlin, Madrid’s Mondo Disko, C12 in Brussels, Australia’s Beyond The Valley
Festival–rounded off with a closing set at the legendary fabric London.
A classical music background as a trained violinist paradoxically led Juicy Romance to
embrace hard and fast sounds in her productions. While honing her craft as a producer,
lyricism simultaneously revealed itself to be a natural outlet for Juicy’s artistic
expression–evolving her output into a liminal space of gritty club land music with hooky,
tongue-in-cheek vocals. Harnessing unapologetic party energy with elements of electronic
pop, Juicy Romance creates club weapons that can permeate the underground and popular
culture.
This is the sound upon which Juicy Romance introduced her debut EP ‘Amorous’, released
on Mutual Pleasure Records and delivering three sub heavy, fast and hardfloor fillers backed
by dirty beats and sassy lyrics about owning your desires. The project garnered support from
radio tastemakers including BBC R1’s Sarah Story, Jaguar and Jess Iszatt, along with
overwhelming international DJ support from VTSS, Marlon Hoffstadt, Manni Dee and
SONIKKU – all culminating to Mixmag’s inclusion of ‘Hummer’ in their ‘Best Tracks of the
Year 2022’ feature, describing the single as an “00s-inspired pop-turned-club anthem.”
In tandem with launching her own label, 2023 sees Juicy Romance explore a more emotional
sound-palette to infuse within her high-octane productions. Diving deeper into euphoric
elements, she continues to buildher audio-visual world of modern-day hedonism - a unique
vision already garnering recognition and love from a steady growing community of fans and
artists a like. Alongside collaborating with a select group of artists this year, Juicy will be
making a series of exciting DJ debuts across Europe and key international festivals, including
her takeover of Resident Advisor’s stage at Pitch Music & Arts, with more to be announced.
