John Mills (NL)

John Mills is one of the founders of DJ collective VONK and is known for his love of funky house bangers. His style as a DJ and producer is shaped by artists like Harry Romero, Supernova, Reboot, Shokë and Nick Curly. His roots go back further, though. From a young age he was already hitting every festival, often found at artists like Roog and Carl Cox.

For both the VONK parties and solo gigs, you'll find him more and more in the Amsterdam and Haarlem nightlife, at spots like Club3, Club UP, Patronaat, Van Beinum and Locael, as well as bigger festivals like SXSW, Kingsday, Strandverblijf and Veerplas Festival.

Next to the funky house tunes at VONK, John is a monthly resident DJ at the conscious morning raves of RISE & RAVE. Here he plays a unique mix of organic, deep and melodic house, but the sets stay unmistakably his: signature grooves with fat, danceable beats.

The sound he brings there has its roots in the music of Yulia Niko, Gorge, Einmusik and Emanuel Satie.

Wherever you catch him, John's sets always come with a serious dose of energy. He takes the crowd into his vibe, listening without moving is pretty much impossible.
