Eskuche (US)

Eskuche is without doubt one of the most consistently exciting house producers to break into the electronic music scene in the last few years. Following his breakthrough Acid Jump EP on Hot Creations he has amassed an impressive catalogue of releases on leading labels elrow, Repopulate Mars, Relief and many more, with the hype around this Russian-born, New York-based artist growing with every new offering. Eskuche is known for his signature house cuts characterised by growling basslines and resonating drum pattern and despite operating very much within the genre of house, his back catalogue is diverse enough that he often plays sets made up almost entirely of his own productions. It’s this variety mixed with the raw power and consitency of the record he makes that has earned him support from tastemakers such as Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Laurent Garnier, Stefano Noferini, Matthias Tanzmann, Maya Jane Coles and many more. Eskuche learnt to DJ as an adolescent back home in Russia, making his name in local clubs and learning his craft in the studio. His debut track “Into It” was heavy played and supported by Italian techno don Marco Carola back in 2013, and with it Eskuche defined a style of hard hitting rhythmic drum that would become a hallmark of his productions: clever kicks and heavy bass lines that would lead to releases on Repopulate Mars, Viva Music, Avotre, Deeperfect, Nervous Records, Elrow Music, Mr. Nice Guy and Incorrect. However it is arguably his releases on Hot Creations for which he is best-known, with 2018 Activator his most successful to date, hitting Beatport overall No.5 and staying in the top 10 for several weeks. Further tracks of note include 2017’s Freak Stuff which was hammered by DJs like Jesse Perez and spun for weeks on end on BBC Radio 1, eventually hitting top 5 on Traxsource’s chart. Similarly impressive were Concentrate on Green Velvet’s Relief and Smooth Move, signed to label of the moment elrow, both of which further established Eskuche as a producer of singularly impressive talent. As a result, Eskuche has found himself playing at the world biggest events: elrow, Electric Zoo Festival, Paradise NYC and regular appearances in the biggest clubs around the world including Output, Ministry Of Sound, Avant Gardner, Rumor, Schimanski, Marquee and many more. And with 2019 seeing further music dropping on Sola, elrow and more besides, it’s clear that Eskuche’s reputation is only heading in one direction.
