Elisa Zuppini (IT)

Elisa Zuppini (IT/NL) is a choreographer based in Amsterdam, and a graduate of the SNDO – School for New Dance Development (2018).

Since 2016 she has developed De.sy.re., a pioneering movement system that forms the basis of her artistic language.

Her work has been presented at a wide range of international festivals and institutions, including the Holland Festival (NL), Theater Rotterdam (Feeling Curious Festival and Dansweek) (NL), Dansehallerne (DK), Frascati (NL), BASE Milano (FAROUT Festival) (IT), Julidans Festival (NL), GAMeC Modern and Contemporary Art Museum Bergamo (IT), FLAM Festival (NL), and Tanzbiennale Heidelberg (DE). She has held residencies at CAMPUS (PT), Veem House for Performance (NL), and Lavanderia a Vapore (IT), among others.

In May 2025, her latest large-group work, Disambiguation, featuring 15 performers, premiered at Frascati Theatre in Amsterdam. The work deepens her research into collective perception, libidinal economies, and altered states shaped by contemporary nocturnal culture, while exploring how ambiguity functions as a dynamic force in reorganizing collective experience.

Early in her career, Zuppini was awarded the Young Talent in Choreography prize from OPEN FLR (IT) in 2016 and received a scholarship for the danceWEB programme (Life Long Burning) at ImPulsTanz (AT) in 2018. In 2026, she was awarded the 3Package Deal development grant by AFK – Amsterdam Fund for the Arts.

Since 2019, she has been part of Jakoozi, a convergence of Amsterdam-based choreographers.
