Tipz taught himself how to DJ at the young age of 14, by the age of 15 he started hosting his own US House and UK Garage radio show on a pirate station based in Essex. This fulfilment encouraged him to take his passion very seriously and began to educate himself on DJing and music artists from all genres.
After moving to Suffolk, he was approached by a local radio station ICR FM to co-host his own show. In this same year, he enrolled at Anglia Ruskin University to study Audio & Music Technology. He embarked on a 4 year course to learn about acoustics, mastering and music production.
In 2007 he released his first ‘I’ll House You’ mixtape, the mixes quickly gained him recognition from fans and producers world wide. Firmly establishing his style on the scene, he began two radio shows on the very popular Internet stations, Handz On Radio (USA) and SSRadio (UK). Both of which home to some very popular DJ’s, such as Spen, Karizma, Jovonn, Grant Nelson, Andy Ward and DJ Disciple. His debut Handz on Heat show saw over 1,000 downloads in the first week. His popularity with house lovers across the globe continued to increase beyond expectations.
His professional approach and great people skills, has given him the opportunity to interview some great producers such as Atjazz (UK), Karizma (USA), Ralf Gum (Germany), N’Dinga Gaba (USA), Rancido (NL) and more… As well as hosting guests such as Melchyor A (FR), Zepherin Saint (UK), Stephen Rigmaiden (USA), Jullian Gomes (ZA), Peter Oakden (UK), DJ Cuebur (ZA), Si Finnegan (UK).
Tipz has also appeared as a guest DJ himself on Lars Behrenroth’s, Deeper Shades of House Radio show. DSOH is one of the most successful house music podcasts available and broadcasts on over 20 radio stations worldwide. Both shows #339 and #373 seeing over 10,000 downloads within just four weeks of being posted.
Towards the end of 2010 he travelled to South Africa. Working hard to promote himself, he landed gigs supporting Lulo Café, Miggs, Nastee Nev, Jullian Gomes (G Family) and Atjazz who was embarking on his first South African Tour. During his time there he appeared on South Africa’s #1 house music radio show, The Urban Beat Show on Metro FM, hosted by Vinny Da Vinci, Zeal and DJ Christos, arguably the most respected DJ’s in the country.
In early 2011 his style and talent was recognised by the very talented producer and label owner, Martin Iveson (Atjazz), who invited Tipz to become apart of the Atjazz Record Company family.
2011 saw Tipz support the likes of; Sy Sez, Rap Saunders, Andy Compton, Scholar Tee, D-Malice. He also released his first remix production for Mist Works – Common Question? This reached number 3 in the Traxsource Deep House chart in early October 2011. Since then he has released music under We Go Deep and current has his debut single planned for 2013 on Atjazz Record Company.
In 2012 under the watchful eye of Martin Iveson, he began mastering projects for Atjazz Record Company. The first of his mastering work will be released in 2013. Atjazz Featuring Robert Owens -Love Someone (2013 Remix EP) will also include his very own remix. Tipz attended ADE a music festival in Amsterdam, where he supported Phil Asher and fellow Atjazz Record Co. producer At One.
He currently co-hosts a brand new radio show called The ARCo. Radio Show with Atjazz and TrueSelf. This air’s on Mi-Soul Radio, which can also be downloaded from The Atjazz Record Company Soundcloud.
