DJ Scratch (US)

Artist & Speaker

DJ Scratch — is a legendary DJ, producer, and label owner whose four decade career has shaped the sound and culture of hip hop. A world champion turntablist, Scratch first exploded onto the scene after being introduced to EPMD by Jam Master Jay, joining the group in the late 1980s and becoming known for his razor sharp cuts, explosive performance style, and unmistakable showmanship.

As a producer, DJ Scratch is one of hip hop’s most decorated sonic architects. He has produced 19 Gold albums and 7 Platinum albums, contributing signature work for Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J, Q Tip, DMX, Talib Kweli, Pharoah Monch, 50 Cent, Christon Gray, RZA and many more. His production catalog includes landmark projects such as The Coming, When Disaster Strikes, Phrenology, Amplified, and Blackout! — earning multiple Grammy nominations and cementing his status as one of the most versatile beatmakers of his era.

A three time Global Spin Awards Turntablist of the Year (2012–2014), winner of the 1988 New Music Seminar Battle for World Supremacy, and champion of Master of the Mix (2010), Scratch’s technical mastery remains unmatched.
Today, he continues to shape the culture as the Owner of Albany Park Records and Rhythm Music as well as being the host of The DJ Scratch Show on LL Cool J’s Rock The Bells Radio (SiriusXM), where he curates classic hip hop and preserves the art of DJing for new generations.

DJ Scratch releases hit much anticipated House Music album titled, The Pivot this fall. Singles from the forthcoming release, “Electric Stew”, and “Go” have already shaken up dance floors across the globe.
