Chris Johnson (US)

As General Manager for mau5trap – the label that sparked the careers of Skrillex, Feed Me and Moguai - and head of deadmau5 music, CHRIS JOHNSON spearheads project management for mau5trap artists and works closely with Three Six Zero Group president Dean Wilson on all things deadmau5. His tireless dedication to music and ear for A&R led him to discover and sign groundbreaking new artists ATTLAS and REZZ. With Chris’ careful guidance, the Canadian producer is now a favorite of tastemaker Pete Tong, and has toured with deadmau5 himself playing back-to-back sets.

Chris joined Three Six Zero Group in 2011 after studying Music Technology in the UK. After two years in the company’s London headquarters, Chris moved to LA to work directly under Dean Wilson. In this position he also managed label projects for Chris Lake and Michael Woods.

Since moving to LA, Chris has project managed two deadmau5 albums, while (1<2) and 5 years of mau5. The former yielded a Platinum status record in Canada for its second single “Seeya”, with over 80,000 records sold. In his time as mau5trap label manger, Chris has also seen deadmau5’s 2010 album 4x4=12 reach Gold status in the US.

Through his meticulous project management and A&R development Chris hopes to continue the steady growth of the mau5trap roster, as well as strengthen the mau5trap brand internationally. He sees the future of mau5trap as a timeless lifestyle brand that
