angelboy (NL)

angelboy is a DJ, producer, writer, and sociologist from Amsterdam whose work is driven by a search for sensuality; in sound, in movement, and in connection. Their sets move between glitchy techno, hardgroove, electro, trance, and South American-infused rhythms, always with a strong sense of groove. Less about throwing your hands in the air, more about getting the hips moving. Shaped by early 2000s pop and R&B, as well as the textures of industrial, angelboy brings together sexiness and grit. Whether in a sweaty basement or on a big system, they build sets with care. As a DJ, angelboy has played across a wide range of underground spaces, queer parties, and festivals in the Netherlands and abroad.

Their debut track ‘F☆CK’ blends reggaeton percussion, catchy synths, and sleazy vocals into a playful, percussive club tool; part of a broader production style rooted in repetition, tension release, and bodily
presence. angelboy is co-founder of the FLINTA* sex-positive party Rubi, a resident at Amsterdam’s queer party The Planet, and host of the monthly Echobox radio show Hysteria, where each episode explores a different emotion through a mix of leftfield sounds. With a background in sociology and education on gender, sexuality, and safer clubbing, angelboy sees music and nightlife as tools for resistance, intimacy, and joy.
