Andy van den Dobbelsteen ()

Andy van den Dobbelsteen is full professor of Climate Design & Sustainability at the Faculty of Architecture & the Built Environment of the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), the Netherlands. He chairs the faculty’s Department of Architectural Engineering + Technology. In addition, he sits on various boards and committees related to sustainability. For TU Delft, Andy has led and conducted many research projects on sustainability in the built environment, for instance on energy transition of neighbourhoods, climate adaptation of cities, and circularity of airports. He was faculty advisor to the TU Delft team for the Solar Decathlon Europe competition in Versailles, 2014, which won five prizes. Andy lectures nationally and internationally. His approach in education and research founds on using the full potential from local circumstances and renewable sources. Next to this professional work he does several sports, writes books, and loves music, visiting concerts and festivals frequently.
