Bass Coast Festival:
In 2009 Andrea & Liz Thomson launched the first Bass Coast Festival in Squamish BC. The outdoor festival is known internationally for its innovative music programming, installation art, and progressive harm-reduction policies. In 2014 the festival made headlines around the world by introducing a first ban on native ceremonial headdresses worn by music festival attendees. After bringing home the 2019 DJ Mag award for ‘Best Boutique Festival in North America’ and broadcasting 21 live sets on preeminent streaming platform Boiler Room, Bass Coast continues to cement its position within the vanguard of immersive arts and music festivals across the globe.
This year marks the fifteenth edition of Bass Coast, and the follow up to a successful return to live music post pandemic. Highlights from the 2022 event include Rochelle Jordan, Mat the Alien b2b The Librarian, Moxie, Anz, Uniiqu3, Tim Reaper, Ivy Lab and the TW/TW London Showcase, Leo Pol, Claude VonStroke, and Monty. The festival also presented over 130 art installations and live artists.
