Alan Campbell (BE)

I am a packaging technologist with a doctorate in industrial engineering. I did my first packaging Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study in 1985 and have been fascinated by the subject ever since.

I work at The LCA Centre which is a packaging research institute and IAPRI (International Association of Packaging Research Institutes) member, working with industry, government, NGO and academic partners and customers to identify the environmental impact of their packaging and to seek to reduce that impact.

The LCA Centre is the innovator of the unique Forensic-LCA approach which employs forensic instrumentation to identify the inventory inputs into comparative LCA studies in which not all stakeholders are present.

The LCA Centre has performed a large range of reuse packaging LCA studies over the last 10 years which provides great insight into the value of adopting reuse packaging systems
