Since Suriname gained independence, back in November 1975, music, art, lifestyle and culture of Suriname origin have thoroughly impacted our lives and our scene on a global scale. Three different generations of artists with roots in Suriname share their favorite legendary artists, genres and moments in Suriname's rich musical history, celebrate Suriname's on-going artistic influence worldwide, and give their personal perspective on the latest exciting developments and potential in Suriname's thriving music and art scene.
