Women Of House Presents OUR HOUSE IS YOUR HOUSE at THE JUNGLE. Women of House was the first event of its kind presented during the world's biggest electronic music summit. Now in its eighth year at Amsterdam Dance Event in various locations, at the Winter Music Conference in Miami and many more locations and festivals, Women of House continues in achieving gender equality awareness as our core commitment.
As we all know, the light has been shining universally on inequality in all work industries between women and men. This problem that exists around the world, sadly, also exists in our own dance music industry. We need to counter this with more women asked to participate in events and more women DJs to headline them. It’s no secret that the music industry is extremely male-dominated, from the stages to behind the scenes – despite the fact that many women occupy powerful roles in music, they receive little to no credit – so it’s tough to say that the lack of females on the Top 100 actually comes as a surprise. In order to balance the scales a bit, we are presenting an event that aims to highlight the vast supply of female DJs around the globe.
