The Only One In The Room: The Next Steps
Silvia Montello (CEO, AFEM), Margriet Koedooder (Owner, De Vos & Partners Advocaten), Stuart Knight (Managing Director, Toolroom), Nadia Khan (Music Industry Consultant, Chair of AIM, Founder, Women in CTRL), Sarah Hildering (Director, Dance & Electronic, Ingrooves, AFEM)
Moderator: Samantha Parsley, PhD (AFEM)
Has all the talk about gender diversity and inclusion actually resulted in such a change? Six music professionals return to ADE in 2022 to debate this. Personal experiences, company policies and practices, and research findings will be discussed - our focus will be key issues and solutions around the lack of formal policy, corporate culture, and collective industry support. Our panelists will be presenting industry leading companies to learn how to apply their D&I successes to the music industry as a whole, and how we as an industry can move forward towards an inclusive and safe space.
As part of our ongoing efforts to establish the AFEM Code of Conduct, Sarah Hildering will present ideas on how we can apply the Code to workplaces, the live sector, and on the dance floor. Alongside that, Dr Samantha Parsley (University of Portsmouth) will also present research findings on these topics from across the electronic music industry.
