Sony Music & Sony Music Publishing will kick of this years’ Amsterdam Dance Event with a special event at the Sony Music office in the A’DAM Tower.
About A Close Encounter with..
To us, ADE is all about inspiration, creation and connection. With our yearly collaboration, ‘A Close Encounter With….’, we gather creatives in an intimate setting, and offer a glimpse inside the creative process of the featured artists and producers and their specific tracks. A host mediates the conversation with the audience and introduces the songs using video footage. Sharing their stories, the musicians open up about what inspired them, and how that reflects in the music. Some background stories are then brought to life with a live performance of these amazing tracks.

How did Sam get where he is today? How does he create his tracks? You’ll hear about the creative process leading up to new music and Sam taking a deep dive into his released tracks exclusively, during A Close Encounter with… SAM FELDT. With special guest and acoustic performance by Gavin James.

Festival FAQ
Yes, all official ADE Festival events listed on the ADE website are accessible with your ADE Pro Pass (limited capacity at venues). When capacity has been reached, a one in one out rule applies.
A very limited number of events, including the Nils Frahm seated concert at Concertgebouw and the Eric Prydz HOLO show have had an RSVP list for Pro Pass holders. Only the RSVP grants entry to the shows.
For (individual) festival tickets make sure to check out our program and simply add tickets to your basket as you explore all events.
Tip: Filter the program by "Show only events with available tickets" to get a quick view.
Most festival events have an age limit of 18+ (and sometimes even 21+ or 23+), these are Dutch governmental rules which say that below the age of 18 you are not allowed to enter a club. Please double-check the promotors website to be sure you can enter the event.
We dance together, so please be mindful of yourself and each other. We expect an open attitude from our visitors towards other guests, regardless of their origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion and age. If you see or experience any unwanted attention, harassment or behavior of any kind that makes you uncomfortable, please speak out and notify staff.
