Metaverse and Immersive Audio: Future of Composing Music for Media
BMIM - Rick van Dunn (JonathanHendrickx, NL), Richard Burki (Future Phonic Studios, NL) & Katherine Rodgers (Water & Music, UK)
The Metaverse is a hot topic. Ever since Mark Zuckerburg reintroduced this idea in 2021 it has been called THE future of sound and music. With several brands (Adidas, Nike), artists (Ariana Grande, Travis Scott and more) ánd even radio stations like iHeart Radio flocking to Roblox, Fortnite and Minecraft for a taste of the virtual world, the new digital landscape is quickly growing. These new digital spaces, need sound.
These spaces make music and media more and more immersive and listeners/viewers are more interested in being incapsulated by the experience. How do we as creators, producers, publishers, labels, developers, deal with this new format and where are the possibilities to expand this consumers experience. Immersive audio opens up a completely new, practically limitless, blank canvas to create and share your creativity. How will the creative industry be able to incorporate immersive audio in all media? Let Rick van Dunn (Jonathan Hendrickx, NL), Richard Burki (Future Phonic Studios, NL), Katherine Rodgers (a/o Water & Music, UK) guide you through the opportunities for immersive sound, music in the metaverse, spatial sound and more in this interactive panel.
