Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman has consistently shared his technological innovations with personal talks and masterclasses at ADE over the decades. In 2022, Hawtin and his team of collaborators will share their work and vision around Live DJ Minting in a part-Masterclass, part-Performance. As the web3 world continues to move forwards into mainstream culture, Hawtin has been one of the leading electronic visionaries to embrace the principles and potential of the paradigm shift to artists and fans sharing in ownership. Renowned for being fiercely independent, Hawtin owns his masters and his publishing so is in a perfect position to lead by example. Aside from his involvement in the PIxelynx platform, Hawtin has started to integrate live minting of special moments from his DJ performances, it’s the start of a system he’s envisaged for some time with his concern for ownership and payment of the music he plays in sets. Today’s presentation will reveal a new system he’s been building on Unreal Engine which takes his performance movements & modulations into new Web3 territory – again, all running in real time. You will also be able to mint one of the moments!
