Live and Festivals: The Cost-of-Working Crisis - How Do We Continue to Build Back Better?

Maria May (CAA), Will Harold (LWE), Lutz Leichsenring (Vibelab), Chris Goss (Hospitality / UnDivide), Ruth Royall (Vocalist & Songwriter)

Moderator: Chris Carey (Opinium)

The economic fragility of the electronic live music sector was a topic requiring attention before the pandemic, but was put to huge display in the past two years. Recovery is slow and uncertain, with issues of consumer confidence, cost of living crisis, staff and equipment shortages, huge rises in air travel costs and lack of availability ongoing. Where are we, how did we get here, and how do we bounce back to a formula that ensures the commercial stability of the electronic music culture as much as protecting businesses and making them weatherproof for future rainy days. What are the ongoing logistical, economic and legislative challenges facing the ecosystem and where are the mid-term to long term solutions.
