As the music industry grows so have opportunities to do business around the world ingrowing or emerging regions for electronic music. While money and opportunity abound, sodoes controversy over human rights violations and inequality in some nations.
But where questionable regional laws - from banning abortion, persecution of minority ethnicgroups and limiting the rights by gender or sexuality,of minority groups - raise moral andethical issues about doing business in both established and growing markets, how do wedecide where to do business, and what to avoid? Is there a moral and ethical compass wecan use to help us make those choices, alongside commercial and creative interests? Whatstands do we take as individuals, companies or as a sector to show solidarity with thoseaffected?
This roundtable debate looks at the opportunities, risks and rewards of doing business inboth emerging and established markets where such controversial issues exist.
