IQMF presents: Love Research

Presented by the International Queer & Migrant Film Festival. ‘Love Research’ is a one take video, by Astrit Ismaili wherein they sing a song surrounded by a crowd of elderly women performing synchronised choreography. The alterego ‘The pregnant boy’ reappears in their work since 2015, each time unfolding different parts of an ongoing narrative. The body extension of this alter-ego is the womb that is inspired by the unique phenomena of male pregnant seahorses. The alien pop star persona of ‘The Pregnant Boy’ is influenced by Astrit's career as a child pop star in early 2000s in Kosovo. ‘Love Research' explores loneliness within the marginalized by presenting it as a meeting point between elderly and non-binary bodies. Marginalization by its very nature brings about a sense of disconnection, dissociation from society at large, and a sense of aloneness and loneliness. In this work, love and intimacy are seen as healing powers for individuals, communities and cultures.

Even though travel by flight is currently not prohibited, we do not encourage global travel to Amsterdam during ADE. Our team is creating an online-first format to ensure everyone can enjoy the event without the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus.

If you are planning to visit Amsterdam, please make sure to check the Dutch guidelines beforehand.

The current Covid-19 measures include keeping a distance of 1,5 meters and wearing a face mask when using public transport. Other general rules include washing your hands often, cough and sneeze into your elbow or disposable paper tissues and to stay home when you’re experiencing symptoms of a cold and/or fever. More information on the current COVID-19 measurements in Amsterdam can be found here.

The select number of ADE Special seated concerts have been set up in close coordination with the city council and the venues are obligated to operate within all COVID-19 guidelines in order to ensure everyone's health and safety.

The minimum age depends per event. Most clubs in Amsterdam are 18+ but some may have a higher minimum age. Please double check the venues website to make sure you can enter the event.
