Basisklanken: ADE Special

The next edition of the Basisklanken series takes place on Thursday.

This edition consists of an intimate evening concert, where music and dinner alternate during the evening. As always, the aim is to let your thoughts drift away during the music at Basisklanken. No work, telephone or appointments, just listening to quality music in good company.

The musical interpretation is in the hands of Beau Zwart, the 23-year-old multi-instrumentalist from Rotterdam. He combines his classical piano background with a preference for synthesizers, jazz, broken-beat and house music. In his live sets he uses livelooping, improvisation and tempo switches. Think Henry Wu meets Floating Points and Jamiroquai.

Beau has already appeared this year at festivals such as Grasnapolsky and Noorderslag, and is not only a DJ, producer and performer but also a film composer. He made his first feature length score last year that was selected on IDFA. You can hear this cinematic aspect well in his performances and tracks.

The vocal accompaniment is filled in by Mike Everling aka Sykes, who uses his voice for an ideal amalgamation between vocals and instruments.

It is possible to stay after the concert for the subsequent program with Zeezout.
