Spread across two locations, ADE Sound Lab harbours plenty brands to quench your gear thirst.

During ADE Sound Lab, many brands will present their latest products, services, and technologies in order to let you experience new gear, showcases, and more. This year they will spread across not only De Brakke Grond, but they can be found at the Compagnietheater as well.

De Brakke Grond

Ableton
With Ableton at ADE Sound Lab, you will get the chance to see their latest kit as well as their full classic range of products. You can ask questions to one of the product specialists or certified trainers, and Ableton will also be presenting several artist masterclasses and workshops. Berlin duo Skinnerbox for example will discuss the principles and benefits of improvising in a live performance and converting studio ideas to the stage.

Amptec
The Amptec Gear Test Lab is the place to experience the latest products by ADAM Audio, Bitwig, iConnectivity, Moog, Native Instruments, RME Audio and Stealth Sonics. Producers can get creative with Bitwig Studio 3, tweak and patch the latest analog synths from Moog Music, or get hands on with Native Instruments MASCHINE and KOMPLETE controllers. DJs can check out the latest Native Instruments TRAKTOR DJ controllers. Whether you’re an enthusiast, a pro or anything in between, their Amptec Gear Test Lab has something that should spike your interest. Of course, there are specialists on hand to advise you and to answer questions.

Beatport
Beatport
provides the global DJ community access to a vast catalogue of high quality, curated digital music from the industry’s leading artists and labels. They’re showing off Beatport LINK at ADE Sound Lab, which allows you to stream over six million tracks directly into performance software, allowing you to mix your own collection with Beatport’s catalog, access curated selections and create your own playlists. Drop by De Brakke Grond to learn how to use this new platform to take your DJ sets to the next level.

iZotope
Join iZotope, the producers of audio software and plug-ins for mixing, mastering, and restoration at ADE Sound Lab for a panel with legendary DJs Carl Cox, Chris Liebing, Dubfire, and Miss Kittin. They will talk about how their creative processes have changed and where they think electronic music is headed, as technology evolves to support it. Moderator and renowned producer Tony Nwachukwu will host the discussion to explore how digital technologies are helping to shape the life of the modern DJ.

LANDR
Also setting up shop at De Brakke Grond is LANDR. The creative platform for musicians is displaying its new rent-to-own plugins and the world’s first AI-powered sample recommendation tool. If you like to know more about the power of the artificial intelligence in music, LANDR is your go-to with demonstrations and more.

Novation
Since the introduction of the iconic Bass Station back in 1993, Novation has continued to play its part in shaping the sound of electronic music. From the ubiquitous Launchpad that has now seen well over a billion YouTube views, to synthesisers behind some of the signature sounds of a constantly evolving musical landscape. Returning to De Brakke Grond, Novation’s experts bring their family of synths, controllers, groove boxes and sequencers to ADE Sound Lab for three days of creativity. Join them to get hands on with the gear and hang out with their team.

Pioneer DJ
Pioneer DJ
will present the Pioneer DJ Playground at De Brakke Grond for the duration of ADE. Drop by to hear exclusive live sets from international talents including Hannah Wants, Cassy, DJ Sneak, Marco Faraone, and Roger Sanchez. They are also showing their new documentary INSTA-DJ, and you will be able to play with the TORAIZ range and the DDJ-200 that will be showcased throughout the week.

Roland
De Brakke Grond
is also Roland’s home base for a three-day stint at Sound Lab. The Japanese manufacturer is bringing its latest range of instruments to Amsterdam, and will be presenting the comeback of three of its well-known synths. Attendees will be able to try out some of the music institute’s latest gear, including the newest Fantom series, Grooveboxes, Jupiter synths and the new boutique: JU-06a. Of course you’ll also have access to the existing Aira and boutique ranges as well.

Akai
entered the electronic music industry in 35 years ago, and have played a seminal role in the hundred year history of electronic music instruments through the introduction of a range of legendary beat machines. Designed by the fabled Roger Linn in 1988, Akai’s MPC has forever changed the way modern music is created by enabling digital samples to become the basis for beat-making and musical composition. You can get hands-on with their newest product line-up, including the MPC series and Force at their stall.

Allen & Heath
Allen & Heath are celebrating Xone’s birthday at ADE Sound Lab this year, and they will let you tinker with their most iconic models. From the industry standard Xone:92 and the rotary Xone:V6 to the digital powerhouse Xone:DB4 and last year’s Xone:96. The full Allen & Heath product range will be on display for you to discover, and their product specialists will be on hand to show you what’s what.

Arturia
is celebrating 20 years of music machine making this year. Have a go at their latest (virtual) instruments and hardware like the new and hybrid MicroFreak synth, the analogue drum machine DrumBrute Impact, and a range of controller keyboards at the Compagnietheater. You can also meet the minds that make their gear come to life.

Denon DJ
The Compagnietheater’s already brim-filled roster will also have Denon DJ’s full line up of electronic music machinery on show. The Prime 4, a four deck standalone DJ system with an integrated touchscreen and he X1800, SC5000, SC5000M, VL12 will take their booth’s centre stage for demos, walkthroughs and hands-on interaction.

EboSuite
EboSuite
is a set of plug-ins for Ableton Live to create, sample, play, mix and manipulate visuals. They are designed to fit seamlessly in the creative workflow of music producers and AV performers, and provide a way of integrating music and visuals into live shows and music productions. Its production team hails from EboStudio and consists of experienced AV technology engineers and designers who have been working on live audiovisual technology since 1995. They are set to show you what’s what at the Compagnietheater.

Loopcloud
The UK sound design record label gets in-depth with the fifth iteration of its app and plugin, which lets producers edit, slice, and pitch a library of 3.5 million samples. There will also hourly sessions on Loopcloud’s PLAY and DRUM plugins that aim to make writer’s block a thing of the past.

Bringing with them a wonderland of electronic instruments ranging from the vintage modular systems that started it all to cutting-edge modern polysynths, Moog Music presents an immersive electronic experience for ADE Sound Lab-attendees. Check out their space at the Compagnietheater to get hands-on, and explore their synthesised world with the 16-voice polyphonic Moog One, Legacy Moog Modular Systems, and the new semi-modular Matriarch. Also, follow their masterclasses to rack up your knowledge.

Rane
Born in 1981, Rane have strived to set the bar for product reliability, durability and a solid feature set for DJs. At ADE Sound Lab they will showcase a broad range of their machines, with two of their laters innovations taking the limelight: the tonearm and needle-less motorised control turntable Rane Twelve and the advanced control and performance mixer Rane Seventy-Two.

ROLI
is hopping across the pond to show two new products. The London-based company, best known for its futuristic Seabord keyboard, will take up residency on the Kloveniersburgwal as well. Come find their booth to be one the first people to see LUMI, their glowing lit-up keyboard designed to make you play (and learn) faster, three weeks ahead of its launch.

Spitfire Audio
Spitfire Audio
will be showcasing with their latest orchestral libraries. From compositional tools that have been sampled in the finest detail to Air Studios and collaborators like Hans Zimmer and Olafur Arnalds: they will have a dynamic array of music making tools for you to play with.

is set to return to ADE Sound Lab to host a panel and a workshop at the Compagnietheater. Mark your calendar for ADE Saturday, which sees the creator-to-creator marketplace present a workshop at the venue, where Capsun and Nicky Romero will facilitate an in-depth walk-through of various sample creation techniques. A day earlier at De Brakke Grond, you can hear Beta Librae and Jayda G share insights on a more personal subject, in a conversation about the challenges, revelations and joys of finding one’s artist identity through touring the world, creating music, and finding a meaningful community within the continually evolving international club scene.
