Next steps for C2W Winner Audionamix

Monday, 03 February 2020
After Audionamix was the eventual winner of the final of the Companies 2 Watch competition, the company made great steps towards new systems, a membership community and more. How are they doing since their win, what are their future plans and will we see them again in 2020?

A jury featuring Amazon CTO Werner Vogels, Q&A co-founder, director Suzy Ryoo, and last year’s C2W winner, Amuse CEO Diego Farias, chose the company from amongst the five finalists. The judges noted the unique qualities of XTRAX STEMS - and the winning company is now receiving support, mentoring and promotion going right through to ADE 2020.

We checked in with the company founders, just before the recent release of their signature XTRAX STEMS. Driven by AI algorithms that were in development for 10 years, the Audionamix system can unmix any record into vocals, drums, bass, and the remaining music stems.

Why did Audionamix decide to participate in the C2W competition?
We were immediately drawn to the competition for celebrating the most innovative ideas in the music industry. We felt our AI stemming technology would resonate with the ADE community and were thrilled to be selected as one of the five finalists.

Did you enjoy the experience of being in the C2W Competition and attending ADE last year?
There’s an energy around ADE that spans the entire city, and our experience was nothing short of exhilarating. We were honored to share the DeLaMar stage with our fellow finalists and esteemed judges who inspired and challenged us throughout the competition. Winning the audience vote after showcasing the new XTRAX STEMS for the first time was validating that we were on the right track.

What happened since you won up until now? And what are you hoping will happen around the launch of XTRAX STEMS?
We’ve been focused on developing and beta testing to improve and perfect the new XTRAX STEMS for its March debut. We’re also launching a new membership community that offers resources, exclusive giveaways, and events to support and educate our user base.

Can you elaborate a bit more about the new product and the possibilities it offers musicians and remixers? For example, could a relatively inexperienced mixer use XTRAX STEMS and re-make/remix a track relatively easily?
XTRAX STEMS is designed to be the easiest and most affordable way to create stems from a song. You drag and drop, then choose what to separate: all four stems (Voice, Drums, Bass and remaining music), backing track, acappella, drum stem, or bass stem. XTRAX STEMS is accessible for all levels and is great for musicians and remixers looking to hone their skills.

How did winning C2W help the company? What did it bring you and would you advise other companies to participate in/apply for the competition?
ADE has built a vibrant and committed community of electronic music lovers and creators. We’re thrilled to have their support and to expand the connection between Audionamix and ADE through the C2W win. There are great ideas out there that need the right audience to advance to the next level. If you’re looking for exposure on the global stage and the mentorship of expert judges, we wholeheartedly recommend applying for C2W.

What's next after the launch? What do you have planned for the rest of the coming year?
We’re committed to consistent updates including algorithmic improvements and expansion of our subscription member benefits. We aim to provide our community with resources to support the entire creative process.

Will we see Audionamix again at ADE’s 25th birthday? If so, what are your plans?
Absolutely - our team and tech will be there. We’re also working with ADE to offer a member-exclusive giveaway to celebrate!

Companies and startups wishing to enter the 2020 edition of Companies 2 Watch can do so from May on out, when a link to upload your pitch will appear on our website.
