Spencer Tarring (GB)

After selling his IT Hosting company (started in 1998 when, as he would put it, people would still say “why would I ever need a website?”), Spencer decided music was something he wanted to pursue full time. Originally from London, UK, Spencer moved to Shanghai in 2009 to become resident DJ and Music Director for the city’s most infamous club, M1NT Shanghai. Already with extensive experience in DJing and production (releases on Spinnin’, Revealed, and his own label Vous), Spencer set his sites on developing the huge market that is China. A 5 year stint developing the nightlife scene in Shanghai gave rise to a growth in electronic music, and Spencer’s brainchild, PYRO音乐 was born in 2015. Designed to connect the fast growing Chinese DJ scene with both International labels and local supporters, PYRO is a platform similar to Soundcloud, but designed specifically for electronic music. Merging licensed content and UGC, with DJ profiles, and venues, PYRO is the first of its kind in China. Spencer is also heavily involved in local and national events/festivals in China, with PYRO providing an excellent platform for local promotors to market their events.
