Passionate about music, Michel Pilot debuted his career in the industry at the age of 16 as radio host on the Val de Loire radio station in 1981. On his show, he presented club hits which integrated him into the nightlife scene. After having discovered DJing in Greece in 1985, he moved to Paris where he worked briefly for France Inter radio and became director at Radio FG, during the great years of this techno station from 1991 until 1994. He then created his booking agency Out Soon Booking, which allowed him to stand alongside some of the biggest DJs as well organising rave parties between 1992 and 1995. He then joined the labels Omnisonus and Apricot Records, distributed by Polygram and then bought by BMG in 1998. In 2000, he started the webradio Technotuner. He is in charge of digital for the distributor Nocturne as well as the BD Jazz collection. When Nocturne shut down, he joined the publishing company BD Glénat where he was the event manager until 2011. He is very close with Jack Lang, with whom he collaborates regarding electronic music since his involvement with the Techno Parade in 1996. When Jack Lang wanted to integrate electronic music at the Arab World Institute which he manages since 2013, Michel then joined Surprize (Concrete, Weather Festival) in 2014 for whom he is now the general secretary and the president, Aurélien Dubois’ advisor. He is also the general secretary of the Trade Association of musical, festive and night venues.
