Mark Yoo is a promoter and consultant in the Korean dance music scene. He is well-known for his previous role as the Director of International Business at Club Octagon, where he was in charge of booking international artists and building relationships with partners around the world. Mark started his career in the music industry at World DJ Festival, a renowned festival in Korea, where he was responsible for artist management and bookings. His love of music led him to work with in different styles of music within the dance music scene, booking international artists including Markus Schulz, Dada Life, and Freemasons. After leading a successful run at World DJ Festival, Mark joined the Octagon team in 2011 and prepared for the launch of a legacy-to-be. In just after four months of the grand opening, Club Octagon was ranked #97 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs list and made a remarkable leap to #12 the following year. Mark’s dedication to the club was vital to its success, as he helped the club gain recognition and respect in the global dance music scene. Mark aims to influence and unite people with the power of music. As an effort to achieving this goal, he teamed up with some of the powerhouses of Asia. In 2015, Mark and his friends from Zouk Singapore, Zouk Kuala Lumpur, and Dragonfly Jakarta, created Asian Alliance, a project that involved hosting regular parties in respective cities and bringing the region’s artists together. Since his departure from Club Octagon in July 2015, Mark has been more focused on developing local talents and helping them develop their own music styles. Mark also supports various partners in China and consults on their operations. He is now working as an independent consultant for various clubs, festivals, and events in Asia after leaving his post at Paradise City’s newly built wonder club – Chroma – and hopes to present new possibilities for the music scene in Asia.
