Twenty years ago some guy from somewhere started recording wrong sounding synth and drum machine compositions, attempting to invent a kind of electronic music that was weird and hairy and unfashionable, with little resemblance to the many variations of techno or all that tasteful chillout "electronica" that cool people pretend to like. Libythth songs are usually detuned and oddly structured honking synthetic rock songs that sometimes reach alarmingly high tempos, successfully alienating both ravers and rockers alike. Great plan!
