Lady of the House (GB)

Lady of the House is a global movement celebrating, championing and honouring women in Dance Music. By educating and empowering, Lady of the House aims to diversify the music industry, push on gender balance in Dance Music and impact the very core of inclusion in our sector.

It all started life as the first ever book of its kind, telling the stories of 150 pioneering women in the music industry such as Charlotte de Witte, Jocelyn Brown, Nina Kraviz, Ultra Naté and many more, with a special foreword from Carl Cox.

In less than 2 years, Lady of the House has reached over 200 million people and has had featured discussions and showcases on conferences and festivals worldwide. This includes International Music Summit and Bestival with dynamic talent TSHA, Melle Brown and Sarah Story, as well as activating with global brands such as Redbull, Beatport, Pioneer DJ and Spinnin’ Records. Lady of the House was featured on V&A Dundee’s exhibition “Night Fever: Designing Club Culture” and held its own 3 day exhibition which included Eats Everything, Sita Abellán, Shermanology, Cici and Barbara Tucker. In their role as contributors to the recent Jaguar Foundation and Sony Social Justice and Equality Fund Gender Progression in Dance Music report - Lady of the House are respected for their expertise in the topic. The initiative is recognised, protected and endorsed by UK Governmental bodies.

With the launch of the record label Lady of the House Recordings earlier this year, the exciting journey of highlighting talent in the music industry continues.

The many achievements of Lady of the House have not gone unnoticed, picking up press support of the likes of BBC, Billboard, DJ Mag, Mixmag, Resident Advisor and many more.

Fast evolving into a global movement, with many supporters, partners and allies worldwide, Lady of the House remains unstoppable in their mission of creating gender parity in (electronic) music.

During ADE, Lady of the House will host and participate in various panels around the question of gender parity, female empowerment and what we can do as an industry to induce change. On Wednesday evening you’re welcome to join for a showcase of Lady of the House Recordings in partnership with LabelWorx at the W Hotel.
