Kasper Kerpel (NL)

Impello is the artist alias of Kasper Kerpel, founder of Purple Desert Records and its sublabel Purple Desert: Fragments. His DJ sets move across different styles of techno, from tribal rhythms to deeper sounds, with bass and energy always at their core. His own releases range from deep, driving tracks to more accessible techno, while keeping an underground undertone.

Purple Desert Records is rooted in techno. Fragments creates space for music from other corners of the underground electronic scene, including breakbeat, jungle, drum and bass, dubstep and experimental sounds. The focus is on tracks with their own character.

At ADE, we met an artist who later released music on PDR. That release led to a series of remixes and became one of the reasons to start Fragments. The first remix EP is out now, with the second on its way. For Kasper, the project shows what a conversation at ADE can lead to—and why he looks forward to hearing new music during the 10-minute demo drop.
